S26361-K1365-V318
  • 10 Gb Ethernet pass thru technology with 18 physically separated lines
  • Most secure transmission of data between server blades and LAN at high, native speed
  • Hassle-free connection to all Ethernet networks, avoiding any dependency on proprietary protocols, protecting investments in existing LAN environments
  • Maximum 6 pass-thru blades within one chassis offer scalability for up to 6 Ethernet connections per server blade
  • Flexible connectivity to external network components that provide different interconnect speeds
  • Pass-thru characteristics allow cost optimized production compared to switch technology, including SFP and SFP+ interface modules
  • Price sensitive customers, who don't see the necessity of switched connectivity, will be highly satisfied by this connection blade
The PRIMERGY Ethernet Pass-Thru 18/18 is an integrated, auto-sensing 1 and 10 Gb Ethernet connection blade for use in the PRIMERGY BX400 and BX900 system units. It can be installed in 6 connection bays and offers 18 x 1/10 GbE down-link port to the midplane for connecting the server blades. The module comes with 18 x 1/10 GbE uplink port for transparent connection to external networks.

Its transparent behavior permits support of both standard Ethernet and Converged Enhanced Ethernet (CEE) packets and thus, it allows the connection of a blade server chassis to FCoE capable top-of-rack switches. The module perfectly cooperates with 10 Gbit/s CNA (Converged Network Adapter) as well as with 1 or 10 Gbit/s pure Ethernet mezzanine cards or on board controllers that are installed in the PRIMERGY BX server blades. This highly flexible usability, supported by low latency for wire speed performance, paves the way for an easy and cost sensitive transition from today's separate Ethernet and Fiber Channel topologies towards the converged operation of both via one cable and with one type of I/O controller.
